Current President of the Lighthouse LANDS Board of Directors, founding member and past immediate Executive Director, Gilberthe Jean-Baptiste is highly involved in her community and a strong believer in giving back and helping others. With a background in Industrial Engineering and Financial Services, Gilberthe has volunteered her time in various urban school districts within the tri-state area to educate students on the importance of higher learning and financial literacy for sustained economic growth. Her work has also spanned internationally through growth initiatives that will help eliminate poverty, using technology in third world nations such as Haiti. Gilberthe gives time to various charitable organizations and sits on various non-profit boards that partner with community, civic and religious organizations to mentor and steer the youth in the path of success. Gilberthe is an active member of First United Methodist Church of Asbury Park where she chairs the Finance Committee, Staff Parish Relations Committee and Nurture, Outreach and Witness (N.O.W.) Committee.
Gilberthe’s passion is to help eradicate poverty and promote education, with an emphasis on empowerment, in her local communities and abroad in third world nations. She is a founding member of Council of Analyses and Research on Haiti (CARH), which is a research and analysis consulting firm committed to providing high quality service to organizations within the public and private sector seeking to fulfill their mission in Haiti. Gilberthe’s entrepreneurial spirit has also spawned multiple start up companies such as LLS Consulting Group LLC, Klutterwizards, Visual Realizations, Opposites Shoes, Gogetters Enterprises and the Minority Empowerment Group (MEG).
Gilberthe continues to work on sustainable initiatives for her native country of Haiti while currently residing in Neptune, NJ with her daughter Marielda.
